Hey beautiful people!
I have a new top to show off and I have made three of them during testing for myself and another three for Amethyst in testing. If there’s a new pattern that releases and I have made multiple versions that means I LOVE it! Lets get into the deets of this pattern!
This is the Katy top and dress from Made For Mermaids. This pattern is an quick sew and a flattering fit. Ive had my eye on this style for a while but never got around to making one. So it was perfect timing when the designer Catherine Muzzatti posted the tester call. I thought, “This is my chance!” Catherine has designed some beautiful patterns for made for mermaids and given that I haven’t tested for her yet I was also excited to be apart of this testing opportunity.
Okay so lets get the quick deets of this pattern!
- Comes in Youth and Adult
- 4 lengths for adults, two for Youth
- 4 sleeve options
- 3 neckline options
As mentioned this was a really quick sew which led to me making many of them. I should admit that it would have been smarter to just make one given my other tasks that needed to be done. However, this pattern was too good to me so I made a tot and have a couple of fabrics from Joann just sitting there waiting to be Katy-ied up.
I am going to show off each version at a time.

This is the top length with bishop sleeves. Fabric is burgundy DBP from Surge Fabric Shop. I have worn this plenty because of its softness, fit, and the color compliments my skin so well.

This is the same version as what’s above(Top length, Bishop sleeves) in a custom Cotton Lycra fabric. When this preorder fabric opens up I’ll state where this awesome fabric is from. This gave me a subtle witchy look and I love it!

It looks pink in these photos due to terrible lighting but I promise yall its a bright red. But here is my color blocked version dress length with bishop sleeves(because they are my favorite) in CSFT from Surge Fabric Shop.

And now its Amethyst turn! This top length and bishop sleeve was made using this mint DBP from Surge Fabric Shop. This color is another great choice for our melanated skin!

Of course, she needed the same version as me!

I really need more of this leopard print from Joann. It’s so gorgeous! Top length and bishop sleeve.

And of course I had to end it with bundle photos! I loved all of these makes from this test!
