Bathing suit time! This is the Boca Bay Swimsuit from Greenstyle Creations. This pattern was drafted by the owner’s daughter, Savannah. Let me say she did such a great job with this pattern!
This two piece swimsuit comes together really well. I would consider this a quick sew because I was able to make three sets without dread or taking up too much time. Swim is not my most favorite to work with but these three suits and the ease of the pattern makes up for the challenges that sewing with swim may bring.
The most exciting part of testing this was being able to make a swimsuit that had a cheeky line. I have been looking for a good pattern with a little cheek action so testing this was perfect timing!
This pattern has many options of the bottoms including low, mid, high rise. For the top you have different waistband and strap widths depending on the size elastic you choose. This pattern can also be 100% reversible with can create more looks without sewing too many suits.
Heres my options:
- Size I graded to J in the hips
- High waisted Bottoms with waistbands (Polka without band)
- 1.5 inch elastic for the top waistband (1.25 for Polka)
Fabric deets: The lime and monochrome fabric is from Surge Fabrics. The polka dots are from Be Mary While You Flo.
As I said previously, this was a smooth sailing sew and three was enough for me to up my swim game! I don’t plan on making anymore swimsuits this year because its the end of August and living in Michigan means I gotta get starting on the fall and winter wardrobe! However, I kinda want to make this in a lounge set. Hmmmm.
