Hey beautful people!
Another new pattern release from Greenstyle Creations! Say hello the the Embrace sports bra that is attractive and a fun sew!
A while ago I made a Pan African inspired make and it had me thinking. I wanted to have a portion of my wardrobe dedicated to just RBG colors. I started with a maxi dress, then a colorblocked hoodie, and color blocked leggings!

But my favorite fabrics to use for this Pan African wardrobe is the athletic knit from Joanns! The red roses, the black camo (I also used black leopard for the headwrap) and the freckled green are a perfect match for the RBG plus the prints add some uniqueness! When I was testing this Embrace I was initially intimidated by the layered back. It looked so complicated! But I was drawn to the look of it and didn’t want to settle for a single back just because the layered looked too challenging. I have this mindset in sewing and in other aspects of my life that if I really want to do something to go for it even if it scares me or looks too difficult. The end result will always be some form of a lesson, growth, or a destination reached.
When I completed my fit version I felt so giddy! That layered back has me HOOKED!! Then I went through my messy stash (When I have a bagillion ideas my fabric stash looks like I dont give a crap about organization) I saw that I had enough of those Joann fabrics to add to my Pan African stash! I am SO glad I did this because I wore this bra outtttt! I dreaded having to wash it after it failed the sniff test. hehe. This is the perfect opportunity for me to make about three more sports bras so I don’t have to play the waiting game!
This test came at the perfect time. I was dealing with some terrible back pain that had me behind. My back is getting better, but it was a sign for my body to chill the hell out and slow down. Our bodies have such painful ways of getting you to listen after ignoring it for a while. This bra makes me excited for the fresh start I will be making to my health and fitness journey soon!
My version is a size H, layered back, darted front. The fit is incredible and my melons were tamed during the day! I felt so beautiful and powerful in this bra. It definitely needs to be added to your to do list! Use up some of those scraps…I know you have a ton that need a purpose.
